The Indian automobile brand – Tata Motors has recently officially unveiled their all-new compact SUV Tata Nexon, which aims to strengthen Tata’s presence on the Indian roads. Thanks to Tata’s IMPACT design, the futuristic and sporty Tata Nexon has everything it needs to fetch the tag of ‘The Best Compact SUV in India’, which is currently enjoyed by Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Tata Nexon vs. Ford EcoSport
Design & Exteriors
When it comes to the exterior design, styling and build, the Tata Nexon sports an all-new elegant and sporty look, which is far better than its competitors. The next-generation exterior design of Tata Nexon gives it a refreshing look, which would definitely attract a lot of young buyers. The new impact design language looks stylish from all side. The sloping roof and the sharp crease that rises with the belt line on the side makes the Nexon sporty. The front and rear are designed at its best for an appealing look.
The Ford EcoSport too features a sporty design which looks more like a crossover from its side profile. Its sleek and has tough looks. On the front, the EcoSport has a slim front grille with hexagonal design on the lower grille. The spare wheel is mounted on the tail gate to give it a off-roader and rugged look. The small and cleanly designed tail lamps on the back look appealing. The designer and engineers at Ford won’t give you a chance to complain about overall exterior design and finish of the EcoSport.
However, the futuristic design of Tata Nexon is fresh and far better than the standard and quite outdated SUV looks of Ford EcoSport.
Interiors
The designers and engineers at Tata have done no mistakes while conceptualizing, planning and designing the interiors of the Tata Nexon. It isn’t simple and boring like other Tata cars. Rather, it looks futuristic, great and superb just like the exteriors. It has been designed from scratch level with the addition of a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls. The all-new instrument cluster has a lot of crucial information to show. Overall, it is one of the best cabins to be in, considering its space, comfort and convenience.
You would find a lot of buttons, knobs and controls on the dashboard of Ford EcoSport, which looks a bit awkward and confusing too. It looks like a cockpit with too much of controls. However the quality of plastics used isn’t premium and look cheap, considering the price tag at which this compact SUV is sold. The black interiors with silver hints fail to grab our attention and they really don’t look exciting. And hence, the Tata Nexon wins in the segment as well.
Features
Tata Nexon comes with a long list of features including push start and stop button, keyless entry, 6.5-inch touch-screen infotainment system with maps, Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity. It also features reverse parking camera. we expect that this infotainment system may also support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. For your loud music needs, the Nexon gets 8 Harman speakers connected to the infotainment system. for safety, it gets ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, hill start and a lot more.
The Ford EcoSport also gets a lot of exciting features like rear defogger, Auto AC, rain sensing wipers, steering mounted controls, touch-screen infotainment system with SYNC Applink with voice control, rear view camera, AUX, Bluetooth, USB connectivity and more. For your safety, the Ford EcoSport gets 6 airbags which is really worth appreciating in this segment. Other safety features included are Ford MyKey, ABS with EBD, traction control and ESP, ABS with EBD and more.
